CSI Water Softeners are designed to reduce the negative effects of hard water (calcium and magnesium minerals). Examples of these effects are calcium / magnesium build-up and spotting of fixtures, increased soap and detergent usage, soap scum build-up and a 20% to 30% increase in energy consumption to heat water, just to name a few.

MOST of the World's water supply is from underground sources that dissolve minerals and carry magnesium and calcium. These deposits hinder cleaning agents, spot dishesand glasses, and leave behind scum. Soaps and detergents dissolve and work better in soft water. Resin beads attract hardness "ions" Unwanted minerals are removed from water without using chemicals.

Iron, Manganese and Sulfur Gas can be reduced by introducing oxygen to the water, changing them to a physical particle that can be mechanically filtered out of the water. This is a NATURAL process called Oxidation and is usually accomplished by using chemicals.
